Glenmorangie Whisky

Glenmorangie, produced in the Royal Burgh of Tain in the northern Highlands, is one of Scotland's most distinctive and influential single malts. The distillery is particularly known for an elegant, fragrant house style, shaped in part by its exceptionally tall stills, which help create a lighter, more delicate spirit with notable fruit and floral lift. Over the years, that naturally refined character has made Glenmorangie particularly well suited to careful cask experimentation, and the house has played a major role in popularising wood finishing in modern Scotch whisky.

The core style starts with The Original, which is currently presented as a 12 Year Old matured in bourbon casks rather than the older 10-year-old version that many drinkers will recall. From that foundation, Glenmorangie continues to develop a range in which extra maturation and cask finishing remain central, with expressions such as Lasanta, Quinta Ruban and Nectar d'Or demonstrating how sherry, port and sweet-wine casks can add richness, spice and texture without overwhelming the distillery's naturally graceful spirit.

That sense of innovation continues to sit at the heart of the brand. Dr Bill Lumsden remains the leading creative figure behind Glenmorangie's whisky making, and the distillery continues to explore both classic and more specialised oak programmes across its core, limited and prestige bottlings.
