Delamain Cognac

Delamain is one of Cognac's most quietly distinguished houses, specialising exclusively in mature Grande Champagne expressions. Founded in Jarnac in 1824, the maison has long been recognised for an understated, refined style where age, balance and aromatic complexity take priority over prominent oak or sweetness.

Rather than functioning as a large vineyard-based producer, Delamain is renowned for sourcing exceptional eaux-de-vie from Grande Champagne and ageing, reducing and bottling them in-house with meticulous care. This approach has helped establish a house style characterised by finesse, length and clarity, with mature notes of dried fruit, citrus peel, spice and rancio delivered with remarkable lightness.

The house remains closely connected to the Delamain family, with Charles Braastad, a direct descendant of James Delamain, heading the maison and also serving as cellar master. Its range continues to concentrate on old Cognacs, from the classic Pale & Dry XO to rarer limited editions, all grounded in the distinctive character of Grande Champagne.
