Hendrick's is a Scottish gin from William Grant & Sons, launched in 1999 and distilled at Girvan in Ayrshire. Created by master distiller Lesley Gracie, it helped reshape modern gin by moving beyond a purely juniper-led profile and introducing a more unusual signature built around cucumber and rose.
The gin is made using a combination of two historic stills: a Bennett pot still and a Carter-Head still, each producing a different style of spirit before blending. Alongside its core botanicals, Hendrick's is infused with cucumber and Bulgarian rose, giving it the floral, gently aromatic character that has become central to the brand's identity.
The original Hendrick's Gin is smooth, fragrant and lightly crisp, with juniper, citrus peel, spice, cucumber freshness and soft rose notes in balance. The wider range has expanded through releases such as Orbium, Neptunia, Flora Adora, Grand Cabaret and other limited or specialist expressions, each exploring a different facet of the Hendrick's flavour world.
Hendrick's appeal lies in its ability to feel distinctive without becoming difficult. It remains an accessible, versatile gin for classic gin and tonics and long drinks, while its eccentric styling and carefully judged flavour profile give it a clear place among the most influential premium gins of the modern era.
