Hammer Head Czech Whisky

Available for S$357.84

Hammer Head is one of the more distinctive names in European whisky: a Czech single malt originally developed at the Prádlo distillery during the final years of communist Czechoslovakia. Produced from local barley and matured in Czech oak, it has drawn attention not only for its rarity but for its remarkably strong sense of place and period. The upheavals of 1989 left stocks lying in cask for many years. After Stock Spirits acquired the business in 2007, those casks were rediscovered and progressively released under the Hammer Head name.

Hammer Head has featured in various bottlings drawn from those long-forgotten stocks, including age-stated expressions released after Stock Spirits rediscovered the casks. The initial commercial editions included a 20 Year Old for the Czech market and a 23 Year Old release, with subsequent bottlings extending to older expressions such as a 30 Year Old issued to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution.
