Denis-Mounié is a historic Cognac name rather than a current active house, remembered primarily through bottles released in the mid to late twentieth century. Founded in 1838, it established a reputation for traditional regional Cognac before disappearing from regular production, and the marque is now found mainly through older bottlings in collections and specialist sales.

This places Denis-Mounié in a very different market position from a living producer with a contemporary range. Interest focuses less on brand positioning than on provenance, condition and period style, with surviving examples attracting collectors and drinkers interested in older Cognac.
