Absolut Vodka

Absolut is one of the world's most recognisable vodka brands, produced in and around Åhus in southern Sweden. Its origins go back to Lars Olsson Smith's nineteenth-century "Absolut Rent Brännvin", with the modern Absolut Vodka launched internationally in 1979 and quickly becoming a defining name in premium vodka.

Now owned by Pernod Ricard through The Absolut Company, the brand retains a strong Swedish identity. Absolut is made from winter wheat and water from the Åhus region, with production kept close to its original home to preserve consistency and control over the process.

The classic Absolut expression is clean, smooth and lightly grain-led, with gentle cereal sweetness, soft spice and a crisp, neutral finish. The wider range includes numerous flavoured vodkas, from citrus and vanilla to berry and tropical fruit styles, making Absolut especially prominent in cocktails, long drinks and contemporary mixed serves.

Absolut's appeal lies in the combination of clarity, design and versatility. It is polished enough for simple vodka serves, but its real strength is as a dependable cocktail base with a distinctive Swedish story behind it.
